Emily Cook (skier)

Emily Cook (born December 1, 1979) is an American freestyle skier specializing in aerials. She represented the United States at four Winter Olympic Games: 2002 in Salt Lake City, 2006 in Turin, 2010 in Vancouver, and 2014 in Sochi. Cook achieved a significant milestone in her career when she finished 5th at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Before focusing solely on aerials, Cook participated in both alpine skiing and freestyle skiing. She graduated from Middlebury College in 2002 with a degree in economics.

Cook is also known for being an advocate for athlete rights. In 2010, she successfully appealed a decision that initially excluded her from the Vancouver Olympics, highlighting issues related to qualifying standards and fairness. Her efforts brought attention to the challenges faced by athletes striving to compete at the highest level.

After retiring from competitive skiing, Cook has remained involved in the sport, working as a coach and mentor to aspiring aerial skiers. She also serves as an advocate for the Olympic movement.
