ARA Fournier (M-5)

The ARA Fournier (M-5) was a minelayer of the Argentine Navy. She was originally built as the civilian cargo ship Anita in 1938 by A.G. "Weser" in Bremen, Germany.

The Anita was seized in 1940 by the Argentine government due to the outbreak of World War II and renamed ARA Fournier. She was converted into a minelayer and designated as M-5.

Throughout her career, the ARA Fournier served primarily in patrol and minelaying duties within Argentine territorial waters. She played a role in maintaining maritime security and contributing to the defense of the Argentine coastline.

The ARA Fournier was eventually decommissioned and removed from service. Further details regarding her later service history, decommissioning date, and ultimate fate are scarce in publicly available documentation.
