Gullette
A gullette is a small gullet or narrow passage. The term is often used in a figurative sense to describe a restrictive or confined space, particularly one through which something must pass. It can also refer to a small, narrow channel or watercourse. In anatomy, "gullette" is a less common, sometimes informal, term for the esophagus, the muscular tube through which food passes from the pharynx to the stomach. The usage implies a smallness or constricted nature to this passage. The word derives from "gullet," with the "-ette" suffix indicating diminutiveness.
