Tweenies

The Tweenies were a British children's television series, created by Iain Lauchlan and Will Brenton and produced by Tell-Tale Productions (later merged into BBC Worldwide). It aired on the BBC children's block, CBeebies, from 1999 to 2002, with repeats continuing for several years afterward.

The show featured four main characters: Bella, Milo, Jake, and Fizz. They were large, colourful characters aimed at pre-school children. The Tweenies lived in a "Tweenie House" with two adult characters, Max and Judy, who provided care and guidance.

The programme's format typically involved the Tweenies engaging in play, singing songs, reading stories, and participating in educational activities. A key segment involved viewing video clips (often from the BBC archives) on a large screen called the "News Flash". The show aimed to entertain and educate young viewers by covering topics such as numbers, colours, shapes, and social skills. It was known for its bright visuals, catchy songs, and repetitive phrases intended to reinforce learning.
