Huxley (video game)

Huxley was a massively multiplayer online first-person shooter (MMOFPS) video game developed by Webzen. It was initially released as Huxley: The Dystopia in South Korea in 2008, followed by a free-to-play version entitled Huxley: The Beginning in 2010. An Xbox 360 version, originally titled Huxley: The Dystopia and then Huxley, was in development but ultimately cancelled.

The game was set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans have mutated due to a substance called "Alternative," creating two distinct races: Sapiens and Alternatives. Players chose to align with either the Sapiens, who are more closely aligned with traditional humans, or the Alternatives, who possess enhanced abilities but are more susceptible to mutation.

Gameplay focused on large-scale player-versus-player (PvP) combat, with players participating in faction wars and various missions. The game featured a persistent world, character progression, and customizable weapons and armor. While originally planned to be a significant entry into the MMOFPS genre, Huxley suffered from development issues, frequent server problems, and ultimately failed to gain a large or sustained player base. Support for the game was eventually discontinued.
