House Rules (1988 TV series)
House Rules was an American sitcom that aired on NBC as part of its summer 1988 programming lineup. The series centered around the Zelnick family, specifically two brothers, David (David Lascher) and Doug (Michael Landes), who find themselves unexpectedly running the family house due to their parents' temporary absence. The comedic premise revolved around the brothers’ attempts to maintain order, uphold "house rules," and navigate typical teenage problems while their parents were away. The supporting cast included Danielle Von Zerneck as Katie, their sister, and Steve Vinovich as Uncle Mel, who frequently visited and often complicated matters. Despite airing during the summer, the series was not renewed for a second season. The show’s target audience was primarily teenagers, and it featured elements of teen-oriented humor and situations.
