David Coulter (politician)

David Coulter is an American politician who currently serves as the Oakland County Executive in Michigan.

Coulter previously served as the mayor of Ferndale, Michigan, from 2011 to 2019. During his tenure as mayor, Ferndale saw significant redevelopment and economic growth, particularly in its downtown area. He also focused on issues related to sustainability and community engagement.

Prior to becoming mayor, Coulter served on the Ferndale City Council.

Coulter was appointed as Oakland County Executive in August 2019, following the death of longtime County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. He was subsequently elected to a full term in 2020.

As Oakland County Executive, Coulter oversees the county's budget, departments, and services. Key areas of focus include economic development, public health, transportation, and community services. He has emphasized regional cooperation and addressing issues such as infrastructure needs and affordable housing.
