Holden Commodore (VE)

The Holden Commodore (VE) is a full-size car manufactured by Holden in Australia from 2006 to 2013. It was the first iteration of the Commodore to be entirely designed and engineered in Australia, marking a significant departure from previous models which were based on Opel platforms. The VE Commodore was available in sedan, wagon (Sportwagon), and utility (Ute) body styles.

It featured a range of engines, including V6 and V8 options. The car was offered in various trim levels, each with different features and styling. Key trim levels included Omega, Berlina, Calais, SV6, and SS. The VE Commodore was a popular choice among Australian buyers, often cited for its spacious interior, powerful engines (particularly the V8), and comfortable ride.

The VE generation received a mid-life update in 2010, known as the VE Series II. This update included cosmetic changes to the exterior and interior, as well as improvements to fuel efficiency and technology. The VE Commodore was also exported to some markets, including the Middle East, where it was sold as the Chevrolet Lumina and Chevrolet Omega. Its successor was the VF Commodore.
