Success (The Posies album)
Success is the fifth studio album by the American power pop band The Posies, released on May 18, 1998. It marked a departure from the more guitar-driven sound of their earlier work, incorporating more electronic elements and experimental production techniques.
The album was co-produced by Don Fleming and features contributions from several guest musicians. While Success received generally positive reviews, some critics noted the change in direction compared to The Posies' previous albums Frosting on the Beater and Amazing Disgrace. It is often cited as a more divisive album within the band's discography.
The album spawned several singles, including "Everybody Is a Fucking Liar" and "Ontario". Success was the last studio album released by The Posies before their hiatus in the early 2000s. The band reformed in 2005 and have since released further albums.
