Commodore Commanding Submarines (West) (COMSUBWEST) is a United States Navy command responsible for the readiness and operational control of submarines based on the West Coast of the United States. It is a key component of the U.S. Pacific Fleet's submarine force. COMSUBWEST's area of responsibility typically includes the Eastern Pacific Ocean and other areas as directed. The command's primary function is to ensure the submarines under its purview are properly equipped, trained, and maintained for deployment and operational missions.
