CKX-TV

CKX-TV was a Canadian television station licensed to Brandon, Manitoba. It operated as a CTV affiliate from 1986 until its disaffiliation in 2009, after which it became an independent station. The station's call sign, CKX, originated from its sister radio station, CKX-AM.

The station was owned by Craig Media until 2007, when Craig Media was acquired by CHUM Limited. Shortly after, CHUM Limited was acquired by CTVglobemedia (now Bell Media). Due to Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) ownership regulations, CTVglobemedia was required to sell CKX-TV.

In 2009, CTVglobemedia announced that it would not be able to find a buyer for CKX-TV and that the station would cease broadcasting on October 2, 2009. An eleventh-hour deal was reached to sell the station to Bluepoint Investment Corporation, allowing it to remain on the air as an independent station. However, the station closed down permanently on December 31, 2011, citing financial difficulties.

CKX-TV's programming historically consisted of a mix of local news, CTV network programming, and syndicated shows. Its local news coverage focused on Brandon and southwestern Manitoba.
