Kevin Robinson (BMX rider)
Kevin Robinson (October 13, 1971 – December 9, 2017) was an American BMX rider, entrepreneur, and action sports icon, primarily known for his accomplishments in BMX freestyle. He was a pioneer in the sport, pushing the boundaries of what was possible on a bicycle.
Robinson was a ten-time X Games medalist, including four gold medals. He was renowned for his innovative tricks and fearless approach to riding, often performing tricks that had never been attempted before. Some of his notable achievements include landing the first-ever double flair (a backflip with a 180-degree rotation) on a vert ramp in 1998 and the first-ever double flair on a mega ramp in 2006.
Beyond his competitive success, Robinson was a strong advocate for BMX and action sports. He actively promoted the sport through various initiatives, including founding his own BMX park and event promotion company. He also mentored young riders and inspired a generation of BMX enthusiasts.
Robinson's influence on BMX extended beyond his riding abilities. He was a charismatic and influential figure within the action sports community, recognized for his positive attitude and dedication to the sport he loved.
