Yoshikawa (crater)
Yoshikawa is a small lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located within the Mare Ingenii, a lunar mare that lies in the South Pole-Aitken basin. The crater is named after Japanese seismologist Akimasa Yoshikawa.
Yoshikawa is a relatively unremarkable crater, possessing a simple, bowl-shaped form. Its rim is slightly raised above the surrounding mare surface. The interior slopes down gently to a small floor. It is not particularly eroded or modified by subsequent impacts, suggesting it is relatively young compared to other craters in the region. It is a solitary feature within the mare, not significantly associated with any other named craters. Its coordinates are approximately 34.5° S, 164.5° E, and its diameter is about 8 kilometers.
