Yu Liqiao
Yu Liqiao (余麗翹, born approximately 1930, died November 12, 2013) was a prominent Hong Kong Cantonese opera singer and film actress, primarily active from the late 1940s to the 1960s. She was known for her beautiful voice and skilled performances in both traditional and contemporary Cantonese opera productions. Beyond opera, Yu Liqiao appeared in numerous Hong Kong films, often playing roles related to her opera background, such as a courtesan or a female warrior. Her filmography includes a significant number of Cantonese dialect films. She was a member of several prominent opera troupes during her career, contributing significantly to the development and popularization of Cantonese opera.
