Sullivan (town), Wisconsin
Sullivan is a town in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, United States. As of the 2020 census, the town population was 880.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 32.2 square miles (83.4 km2), of which 31.9 square miles (82.7 km2) is land and 0.2 square miles (0.6 km2), or 0.77%, is water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 737 people, 252 households, and 214 families residing in the town. The population density was 23.1 people per square mile (8.9/km2). There were 257 housing units at an average density of 8.1 per square mile (3.1/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 99.32% White, 0.14% African American, 0.14% Asian, 0.27% from other races, and 0.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.54% of the population.
There were 252 households, out of which 37.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.4% were married couples living together, 5.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.7% were non-families. 12.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.92 and the average family size was 3.18.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 26.5% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 27.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 106.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.6 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $65,250, and the median income for a family was $67,000. Males had a median income of $42,500 versus $25,625 for females.
