Steve Ludzik

Steve Ludzik (born April 3, 1961) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and coach. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Chicago Blackhawks, Los Angeles Kings, and Buffalo Sabres between 1981 and 1991.

Ludzik was drafted 28th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Primarily a center, he was known for his playmaking abilities and willingness to engage physically. After his playing career ended due to back injuries, Ludzik transitioned to coaching.

He served as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning from 1999 to 2001. Since leaving the NHL coaching ranks, Ludzik has worked as a hockey broadcaster and commentator, primarily for television and radio stations in the Buffalo, New York area. He is also known for his charitable work and open discussion of his personal struggles with addiction.
