Squids (video game)
Squids is a turn-based strategy role-playing game (RPG) developed by The Game Bakers. Released in 2011 for iOS devices, and later ported to Android and other platforms, the game features a team of anthropomorphic squids embarking on an adventure to save their underwater world from a black ooze corrupting its inhabitants.
Gameplay revolves around using the touch screen to launch squids across the game map, utilizing momentum to attack enemies and navigate the environment. Each squid character belongs to a specific class, such as scout, shooter, trooper, or healer, possessing unique abilities and strengths. Players strategically position and move their squids, taking into account terrain, enemy placement, and special abilities to defeat opponents.
The game features a storyline that unfolds across multiple levels, with players earning experience points and collecting items to upgrade their squids' abilities and equipment. Squids also incorporates puzzle elements, requiring players to use their squids' abilities creatively to overcome obstacles and progress through the game. Several sequels and related games, such as Squids Wild West and Squids Odyssey, expanded on the core gameplay mechanics and storyline of the original Squids.
