Raymond Cho (politician)
Raymond Cho (born July 28, 1937) is a Canadian politician currently serving as a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Scarborough North in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. He represents the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario.
Cho's political career began at the municipal level. He served as a Toronto city councillor for Ward 41, Scarborough Rouge River, from 1991 until his election to the provincial legislature in 2016. During his time as a city councillor, he was known for his advocacy for seniors and issues related to social services.
In a February 11, 2016, by-election, Cho was elected as the MPP for Scarborough—Rouge River. He subsequently won the seat for Scarborough North in the 2018 and 2022 provincial elections.
As an MPP, Cho has held various parliamentary assistant positions. In the Progressive Conservative government led by Premier Doug Ford, he has served as the Minister for Seniors and Accessibility. His responsibilities in this role include advocating for the needs of seniors across Ontario and working to improve accessibility standards throughout the province.
Cho is of Korean descent and is a long-time resident of Scarborough.
