Dubai (yacht)
The Dubai is a motor yacht owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. Launched in 2006, it is one of the largest yachts in the world, typically ranking within the top five in terms of overall length.
Originally commissioned by Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei in 1996, the project was initially a joint venture between Blohm + Voss and Lurssen. Financial difficulties led to the project being halted. In 2001, Sheikh Mohammed acquired the unfinished hull.
The yacht features exterior design by Andrew Winch Designs and interior design by Platinum Yachts. Notable features include a large atrium, a swimming pool, a helicopter platform, a disco, and numerous guest suites and cabins. The yacht is well-known for its opulent interior, including extensive use of mosaics and precious materials. It is regularly seen in the waters around Dubai and other prominent yachting locations worldwide.
