R106 road (Ireland)

The R106 is a regional road in Ireland. It runs along the coast of Dublin Bay, primarily through the suburbs south of Dublin city centre. Its route generally follows the old main road before the construction of the N31 dual carriageway.

The R106 begins in Blackrock, County Dublin, at a junction with the N31. It proceeds southeast through Monkstown, Dún Laoghaire, Sandycove, Dalkey, and Killiney, before ending at a junction with the R119 in Shankill.

The road is primarily a two-lane single carriageway. It is heavily trafficked, particularly during peak hours, serving as a vital local access route for residents and businesses in the coastal communities it traverses. The R106 provides access to several popular amenities including the Dún Laoghaire harbour, various parks, beaches, and local shops. It also offers scenic views of Dublin Bay.
