Picasso (album)

Picasso is the debut studio album by American rapper R.A. the Rugged Man. It was originally slated for release in 1995 on Jive Records but was shelved after numerous delays and creative differences between the artist and the label. Often bootlegged and leaked online, the album achieved near-mythical status among underground hip-hop fans for its raw and aggressive lyricism, intricate beats, and R.A.'s distinctive flow.

Despite not receiving an official commercial release until much later in R.A. the Rugged Man's career (with some tracks appearing on compilations or his officially released albums), Picasso remains a significant work in understanding his artistic development. The material showcased a young, unpolished, and intensely focused R.A. whose later work would build upon the foundation established by these recordings. The album's unreleased status contributed to his reputation as an uncompromising artist who refused to compromise his vision.
