Akan (Ghana parliament constituency)

Akan is a constituency in the Oti Region of Ghana. It is represented in the Parliament of Ghana by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Akan Constituency. The constituency was created in 2012 prior to the Ghanaian general election that year. The current MP is Hon. Yao Gomado, elected on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The constituency is located within the Buem Krachi District. Akan is known primarily for its cocoa production and is a farming community. The constituency's political landscape is generally competitive between the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
