Tuzdysor

Tuzdysor is a salt lake located in the Korday District of the Jambyl Region in southeastern Kazakhstan. It is known for its therapeutic mud and high salinity. The lake's name translates roughly to "salty mud" in Kazakh.

The lake's unique composition is believed to have beneficial properties for treating various skin conditions and musculoskeletal ailments. People visit Tuzdysor to bathe in the highly concentrated salt water and apply the therapeutic mud to their bodies.

The landscape surrounding Tuzdysor is typically arid, with sparse vegetation characteristic of semi-desert regions. The lake's size can fluctuate depending on rainfall and evaporation rates. Due to its mineral concentration, very little aquatic life can survive in the lake.

Tuzdysor's popularity as a therapeutic destination has led to some development in the surrounding area, with basic infrastructure to support tourism. However, efforts are ongoing to balance tourism with the preservation of the lake's natural environment and unique properties. The lake is sometimes referred to as the "Dead Sea of Kazakhstan" due to its high salinity.
