The album includes the five songs from Combs' 2019 extended play, The Prequel, and nine new tracks. The singles released from What You See Is What You Get are "Beer Never Broke My Heart," "Even Though I'm Leaving," "Does to Me" featuring Eric Church, "Lovin' on You," and "Forever After All."

What You See Is What You Get debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, making it Combs' second number-one album in the United States. It also topped the Top Country Albums chart.
