FP Canada

FP Canada (formerly known as the Financial Planning Standards Council) is a national professional body that establishes and enforces financial planning standards, certifications, and ethics in Canada. It certifies financial planners who meet specific education, examination, experience, and ethical requirements.

FP Canada offers two main certifications:

• Certified Financial Planner (CFP): This is a globally recognized mark for financial planning professionals. CFP professionals have met rigorous standards of education, examination, experience and ethics, and commit to ongoing professional development.

• Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP): This certification recognizes individuals who have demonstrated foundational competence in financial planning. QAFP professionals have met education, examination, and experience requirements.

FP Canada's mandate includes:
