Meridià

A meridià (plural: meridian) is an imaginary arc on the Earth's surface delineated from the North Pole to the South Pole. All points on a single meridian share the same longitude. The Prime Meridian, designated as 0° longitude, is the reference meridian from which all other longitudes are measured. It passes through Greenwich, England. Meridians are perpendicular to all circles of latitude. The distance between meridians varies with latitude, being greatest at the Equator and converging to zero at the poles. Meridians are used in conjunction with parallels of latitude to define the geographic coordinates of locations on Earth. They are crucial for navigation, mapping, and timekeeping (as time zones are often based on meridian lines).
