Mohammad Mustafa (politician)
Mohammad Mustafa is a Palestinian politician and economist who served as the Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) from March 2024 to June 2024. He was appointed by President Mahmoud Abbas and tasked with leading a new government in the West Bank.
Prior to his appointment as Prime Minister, Mustafa held various prominent positions within the Palestinian government and economy. He served as the Chairman of the Palestine Investment Fund (PIF), a sovereign wealth fund aimed at promoting economic development in Palestine. He also served as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs. He has held roles as an economic advisor to President Abbas and was heavily involved in Palestinian economic planning and development initiatives. He also played a role in coordinating international aid and investment in Palestine.
Mustafa's background is largely in economics and business administration. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from George Washington University. His experience encompasses both public sector leadership and involvement in international financial institutions. His appointment as Prime Minister was seen by some as an effort to address economic challenges and implement reforms within the PNA. He resigned in June 2024 to pave the way for the formation of a new government following political developments.
