SS Titan (1894)
The SS Titan was a British passenger steamship built in 1894 by Harland and Wolff in Belfast, Ireland, for the White Star Line. It was intended to be a part of White Star's fleet operating primarily on routes between Liverpool and New York City. The Titan was slightly smaller than other White Star liners of the era, such as the Oceanic, but was considered a comfortable and reliable vessel for transatlantic travel. It featured accommodation for various classes of passengers and was equipped with modern amenities for the time. The ship served the White Star Line faithfully for several years, traversing the Atlantic numerous times. Information regarding the ship's final fate is limited and requires further verification; however, resources generally indicate the Titan was retired from service, sold off, or scrapped sometime in the early 20th century. Definitive information regarding its ultimate disposition is currently difficult to ascertain.
