Skid (album)

Skid is the debut studio album by Irish blues rock band Skid Row, released in October 1970. The album features Gary Moore on lead guitar and vocals, Brush Shiels on bass and vocals, and Noel Bridgeman on drums. Skid is notable for its blend of blues, rock, and progressive elements, showcasing Moore's burgeoning guitar virtuosity. Tracks such as "New Places, Old Faces" and "Misdemeanour Felicity" became staples of the band's live performances. While the album did not achieve significant commercial success upon release, it has since been recognized as a cult classic and an important early work in the careers of both Gary Moore and Skid Row. It demonstrates the band's raw energy and blues-based foundation before their later stylistic shifts. The album was recorded at Advision Studios in London.
