Rose (Doctor Who)

Rose Tyler was a prominent companion of the Ninth and Tenth incarnations of the Doctor in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, from 2005 to 2006 and again in 2008 and 2010. Played by actress Billie Piper, Rose is often credited with revitalizing the series upon its return after a long hiatus.

Rose was introduced in the first episode of the revived series, "Rose," as a nineteen-year-old shop assistant from a working-class background in London. She becomes entangled in the Doctor's adventures after helping him defeat the Autons. Drawn to the excitement and the opportunity to escape her mundane life, she becomes the Doctor’s travelling companion.

Her final appearance (in chronological story order) occurs in "The End of Time, Part Two," where she has a brief, silent encounter with the Tenth Doctor before his regeneration.

Rose Tyler's character is significant for her role in re-establishing Doctor Who as a popular and critically acclaimed series.
