Ben Lucas (rugby union)
Ben Lucas (born 28 February 1988) is an Australian rugby union player. He primarily plays as a scrum-half but can also cover fly-half and inside centre.
Lucas began his professional career with the Queensland Reds in Super Rugby, making his debut in 2008. He remained with the Reds until 2014, during which time he earned a reputation as a versatile and dependable player. He was part of the Reds squad that won the 2011 Super Rugby title.
In 2014, Lucas signed with French Top 14 side Montpellier. He spent two seasons with Montpellier before returning to Australia.
Upon returning to Australia, Lucas joined the Queensland Country team in the National Rugby Championship (NRC). He then signed with the Brumbies for the 2017 Super Rugby season.
After a stint with the Brumbies, Lucas rejoined the Queensland Reds for the 2018 Super Rugby season.
In 2019, he signed with Japanese Top League side Toyota Verblitz.
Lucas has represented Australia at various levels, including the Australian Sevens team. He earned one cap for the Wallabies in 2010 against France.
