Jake Newton (footballer)

Jake Newton (born January 17, 1987) is a professional footballer who has played primarily as a defender.

Newton began his career in the youth academy of Leicester City. He progressed through their youth ranks but ultimately did not make a first-team appearance for the club.

Subsequently, Newton played for a variety of clubs in non-league football in England, including Rushden & Diamonds, Cambridge United (loan), Havant & Waterlooville, and Newport County. His time at Newport County saw him be part of the team that secured promotion to the Football League in 2013.
