RAF Zeals
RAF Zeals was a Royal Air Force airfield located near Zeals, Wiltshire, England during the Second World War. It primarily functioned as a fighter airfield and also housed various training units throughout its operational period.
History:
Opened in 1942, RAF Zeals served as an important fighter station within Fighter Command. It housed various squadrons operating aircraft such as Spitfires and Hurricanes. The airfield's role expanded to include operational training units which prepared newly qualified pilots for combat operations. Later in the war, American units were also stationed at Zeals.
Following the end of the Second World War, RAF Zeals was gradually decommissioned. It was eventually closed and returned to agricultural use.

Current Status:
The airfield is no longer operational and the land has largely reverted to agricultural fields. Little remains of the original airfield infrastructure, although some evidence of its existence, such as remnants of runways, can still be observed.
