Wetsinge

Wetsinge is a village in the municipality of Het Hogeland, in the province of Groningen, Netherlands. It is located about 15 kilometers north of the city of Groningen.

Wetsinge is known for its wierde or terp, an artificial dwelling mound constructed to provide protection against flooding. The wierde of Wetsinge is one of the best-preserved and highest in the province, rising approximately 8 meters above the surrounding landscape. Archaeological excavations have revealed evidence of continuous habitation since Roman times. The local museum, Museum Wierdenland, maintains an exhibition dedicated to the history and archaeology of the wierde landscape.

The village itself is small and primarily agricultural.
