Jim Simon (American football)

Jim Simon (born August 11, 1960) is a former American football player. He played college football as a quarterback for the University of Notre Dame from 1979 to 1982.

Simon was a backup quarterback for most of his career at Notre Dame. He saw limited playing time behind starters such as Rusty Lisch and Blair Kiel. In 1981, he completed 12 of 24 passes for 132 yards and one touchdown. In 1982, his senior season, he completed 2 of 3 passes for 24 yards.

He was not drafted into the National Football League (NFL) following his college career. His contributions were primarily as a reserve player during a period of transition for the Notre Dame football program.
