Mindel (river)
The Mindel is a river in Bavaria, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Danube. The Mindel rises in the west of the district Unterallgäu, flows northwards through the districts Unterallgäu and Günzburg, and discharges into the Danube near Gundelfingen an der Donau. Towns along the Mindel include Mindelheim, Pfaffenhausen, Thannhausen, and Burgau. The river's length is approximately 78 kilometers. The Mindel gave its name to the Mindel glaciation, one of the ice ages of the Pleistocene epoch.
