Čamurlija
Čamurlija is a neighborhood and a former municipality of the city of Niš, Serbia. Located to the south of the city center, it encompassed several villages and agricultural land. In 2004, it was merged into the larger municipality of Medijana as part of a broader administrative reorganization of Niš. The area is largely residential and agricultural, with a mix of older houses and newer developments. While administratively no longer existing as a separate municipality, the name Čamurlija is still commonly used to refer to this southern region of Niš, maintaining a distinct local identity. Historically, it was primarily a rural area contributing to the agricultural production of the region. The name itself is derived from the Serbian word "čamur," meaning mud, likely reflecting the soil conditions in the area.
