Marratech

Marratech was a Swedish software company specializing in video conferencing and collaboration solutions. Founded in 1998 in Umeå, Sweden, the company developed software and hardware platforms designed to facilitate real-time communication and collaboration over the internet. Their offerings included both desktop and room-based video conferencing systems, as well as tools for screen sharing, document collaboration, and interactive presentations. Marratech aimed to provide accessible and user-friendly solutions for businesses, educational institutions, and other organizations to connect remotely. In 2007, Google acquired Marratech, integrating its technology and expertise into Google's own communication and collaboration products, most notably Google Meet (formerly Google Hangouts Meet). The acquisition effectively brought Marratech's technology to a much wider audience. Although the Marratech brand is no longer actively used, its underlying technology and engineering talent significantly contributed to the development of Google's video conferencing capabilities.
