Red Rock Pass (Idaho)

Red Rock Pass is a mountain pass located in Clark County, Idaho, in the United States. Situated at an elevation of approximately 7,203 feet (2,195 meters), it lies within the Beaverhead Mountains, part of the Bitterroot Range of the northern Rocky Mountains.

The pass is historically significant as a relatively low-elevation route across the Continental Divide. It served as a vital transportation corridor for Native Americans, fur traders, and early settlers. Red Rock Pass provided a more accessible pathway compared to some of the higher and more rugged passes in the surrounding mountains.

Today, the pass is crossed by a dirt road. It offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape and is a popular destination for outdoor recreation activities such as hiking, camping, and wildlife viewing. The pass is typically accessible during the summer and fall months, as winter snow conditions can make it impassable. The surrounding area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
