Filippo Visconti (bishop)
Filippo Visconti (died 1296) was an Italian Roman Catholic bishop. He served as the Archbishop of Milan from 1286 until his death. His tenure was marked by ongoing political conflicts within the Milanese territory, particularly involving the Della Torre and Visconti families. He was a member of the Visconti family, though his relationship to other prominent members, such as those who later ruled Milan, is not always clearly defined in historical records. He worked to maintain the authority of the Church within Milan, navigating the complex power struggles of the era. He was succeeded as Archbishop by Rufino da Alessandria.
