Wicked Cyclone

Wicked Cyclone is a steel-tracked roller coaster located at Six Flags New England in Agawam, Massachusetts. It is a rebuild of the former Cyclone wooden roller coaster, utilizing the existing support structure. The transformation was completed by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) and opened to the public in 2015.

The ride features RMC's patented I-Box track technology, which allows for steeper drops, inversions, and a smoother ride experience compared to traditional wooden coasters. Wicked Cyclone is known for its intense airtime moments, numerous inversions, and overall aggressive layout. Key elements of the ride include a 200-degree stall, several overbanked turns, and multiple airtime hills.

The transition from a traditional wooden coaster to a steel-hybrid coaster was undertaken to improve the ride's reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and enhance the overall rider experience. The original Cyclone had become known for its rough ride quality, and the conversion addressed these concerns. Wicked Cyclone is considered a major attraction at Six Flags New England and is highly regarded among roller coaster enthusiasts. Its vibrant color scheme and imposing structure make it a visually striking addition to the park.
