California State Route 26 (1937–1964)

California State Route 26 was a former state highway in California that existed between 1937 and 1964. It stretched from US 99 (later I-5) near Stockton to US 40/US 50/CA 12 near Lodi. It was essentially a connector route facilitating traffic between these two major highways and the towns in between.

During its existence, Route 26 was primarily a two-lane conventional highway. The highway's number was retired in the 1964 state highway renumbering. Most of its former alignment now corresponds to portions of California State Route 12. The exact route correspondence varies along the historical alignment due to road realignments and upgrades that have occurred since 1964.
