The Island Princess (film)
The Island Princess is a 2007 animated direct-to-video musical film produced by Mattel Entertainment and distributed by Lionsgate Home Entertainment. It is part of the Barbie film series, and is the first original musical in the franchise. The film features Barbie as Ro, a young girl who is shipwrecked on a tropical island as a child and raised by animals.
Years later, Prince Antonio discovers Ro and her animal companions. He brings her back to his kingdom, where she must navigate courtly life while also uncovering her past and protecting the island paradise she called home. The film features songs, talking animals, and themes of friendship, love, and acceptance. The film's animation style is characteristic of other Barbie direct-to-video movies from the same period.
