Black Helicopter (band)
Black Helicopter is an American noise rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 2003. Characterized by their heavy, droning sound, the band blends elements of post-punk, psychedelic rock, and noise rock, often drawing comparisons to bands like The Jesus Lizard, Swans, and early Sonic Youth.
The core members have remained consistent throughout the band's history, although the lineup has seen some changes. Black Helicopter's music is noted for its dense textures, repetitive rhythms, and often abrasive vocals. Their lyrical themes often explore darker subjects, touching on themes of paranoia, isolation, and societal decay.
Black Helicopter has released several albums and EPs on various independent record labels. They have toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, building a dedicated fanbase with their intense live performances. Their discography includes albums that have received critical acclaim within the noise rock and experimental music scenes, though they have remained largely an underground band.
