Gabe Paul (1910-1998) was a prominent American baseball executive who held various general manager and president positions with several Major League Baseball teams during a career spanning over four decades. He is best known for his tenures with the Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians, and New York Yankees.

Paul's career began in the minor leagues before he ascended to the major league level. He served as the general manager of the Cincinnati Reds from 1951 to 1960, a period marked by competitive but ultimately unsuccessful teams. He then became the general manager of the Houston Colt .45s (later Astros) from 1961 to 1967, overseeing the early years of the franchise and their transition into the Astrodome.

His longest and perhaps most impactful tenure was with the Cleveland Indians, where he served as general manager and later president from 1973 to 1978. He is credited with revitalizing the Indians franchise, acquiring key players and building a foundation for future success.

Paul concluded his executive career with the New York Yankees, serving as their general manager from 1978 to 1979. His time with the Yankees was relatively short but followed a period of significant success for the team.

Known for his shrewd negotiating skills and player evaluation abilities, Gabe Paul was a respected figure in baseball and a key player in shaping the landscape of several major league franchises. He was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame in 2015.
