Lili Bech
Lili Bech (1883-1939) was a Danish film actress known primarily for her work in silent films. While her career was relatively short, she is notable for her association with pioneering filmmaker Carl Theodor Dreyer.
Bech began her film career in the 1910s and appeared in several Danish films. Her most significant role was in Dreyer's debut film, Presidenten (The President), released in 1919. She played the character of Maika, a young woman whose tragic story is central to the film's narrative.
After Presidenten, Bech continued to act in Danish cinema for a few more years. However, her film career faded in the early 1920s. Details regarding her life after her acting career are scarce, but it is known that she passed away in 1939. While she didn't achieve widespread international fame, her contribution to early Danish cinema, particularly her role in Dreyer's first film, has secured her a place in film history.
