BRM P133

The BRM P133 was a Formula One racing car designed and built by British Racing Motors (BRM) for the 1968 Formula One season. It was intended as an evolution of the earlier BRM P126, aiming to address some of the handling and reliability issues that plagued its predecessor. The car was powered by BRM's own 3.0-litre V12 engine.

The P133 featured a revised chassis and suspension compared to the P126, with efforts made to improve weight distribution and aerodynamics. However, the car's performance in competition remained inconsistent. While the V12 engine offered considerable power, it proved to be fragile, and the chassis struggled to effectively translate that power into competitive lap times.

Drivers such as Pedro Rodriguez and Richard Attwood raced the BRM P133 during the 1968 season. The car did achieve some points finishes, but it ultimately failed to deliver the desired level of success for the BRM team. Its unreliability and handling characteristics prevented it from consistently challenging the frontrunners. The P133 was subsequently superseded by further developments and new models as BRM continued its Formula One efforts.
