Marvin Miller (actor)
Marvin Miller (July 18, 1913 – February 8, 1985) was an American radio, film, and television actor and announcer. He was known for his distinctive baritone voice and his versatility in playing a wide range of character roles.
Miller began his career in radio, working as an announcer and voice actor on numerous programs. One of his most memorable radio roles was as the voice of Robby the Robot in the science fiction series Forbidden Planet (1956). He also lent his voice to various commercials and narrations.
Transitioning to television, Miller became a familiar face, appearing in numerous guest roles on popular shows throughout the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He was particularly recognized for his role as Michael Anthony, the executive secretary who delivered million-dollar checks on behalf of the unseen philanthropist John Beresford Tipton in the television series The Millionaire (1955-1960). He also narrated the series.
Other notable television appearances included roles in Perry Mason, Bonanza, The Twilight Zone, Gunsmoke, and Ironside. Miller also had a significant role as Dr. Herbert Styles in the sci-fi series Fantastic Voyage (1968-1969).
In addition to his television work, Miller also appeared in several films, often in supporting roles. He continued to work in radio throughout his career. His deep, resonant voice made him a popular choice for narrations and voice-over work, and his ability to portray a wide variety of characters cemented his place as a respected and versatile actor.
