Mark Chapman (cricketer)
Mark Chapman is a professional cricketer who represents New Zealand and has previously played for Hong Kong at the international level. Primarily a left-handed batsman, he is also a capable right-arm off-break bowler.
Chapman was born in Hong Kong and initially played cricket for their national team, participating in One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. He qualified to play for New Zealand due to his New Zealand-born father.
He made his debut for New Zealand in 2018. Chapman has represented New Zealand in various formats of the game, including ODIs and T20Is, and has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket. He has shown versatility in his batting, often contributing valuable runs in the middle order.
His career has involved navigating eligibility rules due to his dual nationality, leading to periods where he was unavailable for selection for either Hong Kong or New Zealand. As of late 2023, he continues to be an active member of the New Zealand cricket setup.
