Novo Mundo (TV series)
Novo Mundo is a Brazilian telenovela produced and broadcast by Rede Globo. It aired from March 22, 2017, to September 25, 2017, replacing Sol Nascente and being replaced by Tempo de Amar.
The telenovela is written by Thereza Falcão and Alessandro Marson, with direction by Vinícius Coimbra, and artistic direction by Coimbra as well.
Novo Mundo is a historical drama set in the early 19th century, primarily during the period when the Portuguese Royal Family relocated to Brazil and the subsequent events leading up to Brazil's independence. The narrative follows the intertwined lives of several characters, both fictional and based on historical figures, including Dom Pedro I, Emperor of Brazil, and Empress Leopoldina.
The plot revolves around the adventures of Anna Millman, an English teacher and adventurer, and Joaquim Martinho, an actor who falls in love with her amidst the backdrop of political turmoil and social change.
